ABOUT OLGA OSETH

Musician

Based out of Seattle, WA.

My musical journey started at the age of six. 

After completing high school, I went on to study piano performance at St. Cloud State University, MN. There I was introduced to electro-acoustic music, which fascinated me and I started to compose and create.  I graduated with a BM in Piano Performance and a BA in New Media and Composition in 2012.  

I received MM in Intermedia Music Technology (2015) and DMA in Data-driven Instrument Performance (2019) from the University of Oregon.

Many of my electro-acoustic works have been performed at international and national conferences including: NWEAM (New West Evolving Art and Music Organization), KISS (Kyma International Sound Symposium), SEAMUS (Society of Electro Acoustic Music in the United States), ICMC (International Computer Music Conference), WIMT (Women in Music Technology). My collaborative works also have been presented at Far Our Film Festival in Tennessee, and Portland International Film Festival. You can find my composition “Shapes of Each Other” on SEAMUS Vol.26 CD.

I participated in many piano competitions over the years. Recipient of Minnesota Music Teachers Forum, Music Teachers National Association Competition (Honorable Mention), Minnesota Music Teachers Association (winner of Jr. and College Young Artist Competition), Thursday Musical (Honorable Mention), Minnesota Music Teachers Association Young Ambassador Competition (winner). I performed at the Honors Recital at MN State Convention at Crown Plaza West and performed a concerto with St. Cloud State University Orchestra. Recipient of St. Cloud Symphony Young Artist Competition Scholarship for my concerto performance.

I currently work at the University of Washington as an Administrative Specialist. In my free time I take on piano gigs  in Seattle, WA.
